Michael was awarded The
Priscilla Hull Award for the best 3D work, judged
and presented by the eminent Devon based painter,
Alan Cotton;- and The Joyce Dennys Bowl for
best human interest exhibit, judged and presented
by the proprietor of Budleigh’s prestigious
Brook Gallery, Angela Yarwood. The latter award
being given in recognition of Michael’s
three exhibited works on the theme of The Stations
of The Cross.
In their comments, both judges noted how "unusual"
it was to find religious themed work of this
kind in a local art club show.
A year ago, Michael received the award for
Best Acrylic work, judged by former Devon Schools
Art Advisor and honorary member of the South
West Academy, Phil Creek, who also commented
on the "unusual" nature of Michael’s
large abstract painting, within the context
of a local club exhibition.
