Budleigh Salterton Art Club 35th Annual Exhibition:
"Unusual" Tributes for this year’s double winner

Michael was awarded The Priscilla Hull Award for the best 3D work, judged and presented by the eminent Devon based painter, Alan Cotton;- and The Joyce Dennys Bowl for best human interest exhibit, judged and presented by the proprietor of Budleigh’s prestigious Brook Gallery, Angela Yarwood. The latter award being given in recognition of Michael’s three exhibited works on the theme of The Stations of The Cross.

In their comments, both judges noted how "unusual" it was to find religious themed work of this kind in a local art club show.

A year ago, Michael received the award for Best Acrylic work, judged by former Devon Schools Art Advisor and honorary member of the South West Academy, Phil Creek, who also commented on the "unusual" nature of Michael’s large abstract painting, within the context of a local club exhibition.
